Seeds Don’t Grow in Isolation

We Can Doubt God… But He Still Shows Up

This week has been filled with a mix of emotions—honestly, a bit of uncertainty, questions, and moments where I found myself wondering what God was doing in all of it. Yet somehow, even in that space, He still showed up.

On Tuesday April 21,2026, out of nowhere, I was asked to assist in Bible Study. No preparation, no warning—just a call 30 minutes before it started. My first thought was, “Lord, why me?” I don’t always feel qualified. My thoughts aren’t always aligned. I fall short. I wrestle with distractions, lust and “stinking thinking.” And yet, I’ve learned to still say yes.

So I did.

We gathered quickly, I jotted down the directions given by the Apostle, I prayed for about 15 minutes, and then it was time. The message that night centered on Sanctification—which is the ongoing process of God setting us apart and transforming us to reflect His character. Not just positionally holy, but changed in lifestyle, thinking, and behavior.

After the minister teached; the group shared, many powerful insights came forth—being connected to the Vine, staying rooted in the Word, and walking in transformation. But one statement the teacher made stood out to me:

“Seeds fall because they are not properly nourished.”

He tied it to the company we keep.

That thought wouldn’t leave me.

Scripture reminds us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, “Bad company corrupts good character.” And it became clearer to me that even a good seed—the Word of God planted in us—can struggle to grow if the environment is not nourishing it.

Sometimes seeds don’t fall because the seed is bad. They fall because the environment drains what God is trying to build.

When you break it down spiritually:

  • The seed is good (God’s Word)

  • The heart may be willing

  • But the environment can still hinder growth

Influence is never neutral. The voices around us either water what God is doing or slowly suffocate it with doubt, distraction, compromise, or fear.

But the right company? It nourishes the seed. It strengthens faith. It corrects, encourages, prays, and aligns with what God is producing in you.

What struck me most is this: sanctification is not just about God changing me internally—it’s also about Him teaching me how to steward my environment.

Later that week, on QE Thursday, the exact same scripture (1 Corinthians 15:33) came up during General Session; as the Reverend was teaching a lesson on SUCCESS through Queenly Character based on the company we keep. That was my confirmation on why that sentence stood out to me on Tuesday. God knew I was feeling inferior because I felt like my comment was not in line with everyone else, I felt like I missed something.

But God didn’t stop there.

The very next day, the Lord sent one of His own to bless me—through her presence, through spiritual confirmation, and even through a monetary offering. At the very moment I was focusing on my next steps with Him, He allowed her to sow a seed into me.

And it clicked.

While I was reflecting on seeds needing the right environment to grow… God was showing me what it looks like to be in the right environment.

He didn’t just teach the lesson—He demonstrated it.

When God sends people into your life that He trusts to walk alongside you, it may feel unfamiliar at first. It may even feel a little uncomfortable or unexpected how they show up—right on time—with a word, a prayer, a message, or encouragement you didn’t even know you needed.

But I’ve learned… that’s the Holy Spirit working through them.

I’ve learned to embrace it.I’ve learned to recognize the confirmations.

I’ve learned to trust.

And if I’m honest—I’m still learning to trust.

But the Lord knows that, and He has been patient with me.

So today, I thank God for the “nutrients” He has surrounded me with—people who water, who sow, who correct, and who help guide me along this journey.

Because seeds don’t grow in isolation… they grow where they are nourished.

And I’m grateful that God cares enough about me to not only plant the seed—but to send the right environment for it to grow.

PRAYER

Father God,

Thank You for the seeds You place within us—dreams, visions, callings, and purpose. Remind us that seeds do not grow in isolation, but in the right soil, with the right people, and in the right season.

Lead us to the environments and connections You have ordained for our growth. Remove anything that keeps us isolated from Your process, and strengthen us to trust Your timing.

Help us to embrace community, correction, and covering, knowing that You designed us to flourish together.

May we grow rooted in You, and bear fruit that blesses others and brings You glory.

In Jesus name, Amen.

THANK YOU LORD!
