Getting Back on Track!

Hey OUTM Family,
I know it’s been such a very long time since we’ve communicated in this manner. It feels like I start the year with a post, get excited, get you all excited—and then nothing.
I could sit here and give you all the ebbs and flows of life and explain why I didn’t stay consistent in posting. All of which would be true. Last year was a rough year, and eventually I will share, but the truth of the matter is, I would only be giving myself excuses. And I’m tired of the excuses!
“I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest… I myself should become disqualified.”—1 Corinthians 9:27
I’m tired of allowing distractions to get me off track. What I am thankful for, is that the Lord continues to extend His gifts of grace and mercy, giving me the opportunity to get it right!
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning.”—Lamentations 3:22–23
Last year around this time, I heard a sermon titled Death to Distractions. I was excited about it!! I felt like I had a battery in my back! it was so encouraging, and it was right on time!! Then what did I do? I let the distraction slowly seep in, and then it took over. I gave life to my distractions, and for what? I allowed the distractions to take hold of my space and my time in places where they did not belong.
“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”—Galatians 5:16
I slowed down the timeline. I delayed what God was calling me to steward. I allowed things that were never meant to be permanent to take priority over purpose.
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”—Psalm 90:12
Even when those trying times hit, I’ve learned that I must pivot and RESETT.
RESETT is my Reprogramming Exercise that Strengthens me Even in Trying Times. It’s the intentional decision to pause, realign, and return to what God originally spoke—no matter the pressure, fatigue, or distractions around me.
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.”—Isaiah 40:31
Today, I choose alignment over distraction. Obedience over excuses. Discipline over delay.
“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”—Hebrews 12:1
This is my RESETT.
A recommitment. A decision to steward time, assignment, and purpose the way God intended.
Do you want to join me?
Here are my FIVE steps that I will be utilizing to stay on course:
Fix my focus on God, not the outcome
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” — Isaiah 26:3
My peace comes when my attention stay on God, not timelines, comparisons, or pressure.
Guard your heart intentionally
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23
I have to be mindful of what I allow to influence my emotions, expectations, and decisions.
Walk by discernment, not desire
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5–6
Feelings fluctuate, but God’s wisdom provides direction and stability.
Move with patience and purpose
“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him.” — Lamentations 3:25
Waiting is not wasted time when my God is shaping my character and providing me clarity.
Seek confirmation through prayer and peace
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.” — Colossians 3:15
If it disrupts my peace, it more than likely requires deeper prayer or reconsideration. Moving with intension!

Thank you for your transparency and encouragement. This was such a wonderful reminder to not give way to distractions. Let us not waste precious resources by being distracted by things that will not advance the Kingdom of God. Amen.
Stacey this truly blessed me. I love your use of scripture and you reminded me of some and schooled me on some new verses. I love the lay out of points on how to get back on track and take the journey of resett with you.
I literally today realized I had gotten distracted and will not beat myself up but instead see the lesson and try to work through. I see a pattern in when I allow distraction to set in. Always seeems like Thursday is the day. Well I will pray on it.
But thank you for sharing your wonderful writing
Great content… keep up the awesome work!!!
